20/06/2023 – On European soil the dust has settled for the time being, but across the ocean it’s blowing full swing at the NRHA Derby currently running and scheduled up to and including June 25 in Oklahoma City. The program offers so much more than just the Derby classes, but we just stick to those for the moment. The preliminaries of the $ 404.500 added Open Futurity have been concluded by now and the field of finalists is set. We have been focusing on some of the European debutants: NRHA Million Dollar Rider Cira Baeck (BEL), NRHA Million Dollar Rider Gennaro Lendi (ITA) and Edouard Winne (BE), employed by Craig Schmersal. Cira and Edouard did not qualify for the finals, but Gennaro qualified the 4-year-old stallion Stepin Out Gunnin [Gunnatrashya] owned by Marc & Kathy Gordon for the $ 205.000 added L4 finals, posting a 221,0.
